Frank Gore should be a solid fantasy contributor in the 2008 football season. He had a very disappointing 2007 season, but I expect a bounce back year for 2008.
He has a new offensive coordinator in Mike Martz, and should benefit from that. Expect him to be used regularly, and to receive quite a few more touches than he did in 2007. The 49ers don’t have a top notch offense, but with Martz at the helm, that should change to a point. I expect the 49ers to be more of a running team than most may think with Martz in town, mainly due to the spotty quarterback play they have been getting. Gore is the best weapon they have on the offensive side of the ball, and Martz will find creative ways to get the ball into his hands.
I expect his receptions to increase as well, and he should find the end zone a number of times this upcoming year. Additionally, he has upside potential and can probably be had towards the end of the first round, or early in the second. I don’t expect him to be a stud RB in the 2008 season, but he should be a solid starter for any fantasy squad.
