Ryan Grant will be a hot pick in the 2008 fantasy football draft. He has enough potential to go in the first round and be a stud running back for you, but depending who is on the board when you draft, I would probably look to grab him early in the second round.
He stepped into the starting running back role in Green Bay and did not look back. He gave the Packers the best ground game they have had since Ahman Green was a stud for them. He should have a stellar 2008 season, and has the potential to put up some huge numbers. Green Bay is traditionally a passing team, but look for them to take advantage of Grant’s ability in the upcoming season. They should find a number of ways to get the ball into his hands, and he has the ability to take it the distance any time he touches the ball.
If you pick at the end of the first round, you could be very well off pairing Grant up with a stud wide receiver as a great fantasy football base for 2008. I have a little concern about how he will hold up for a full year as a featured back, but if he stays healthy, he should be a workhorse for you. 1200 yards and 8-10 touchdowns is pretty realistic, with additional upside potential.
