Travis Henry, cut by the Broncos, puts my fantasy football rankings concerning him in a haze. He is still a good running back, but has no team as of yet. Keep him on your radar, he could be a useful option this season still, but it really depends on where he ends up. Stay tuned.

Travis Henry, if he stays healthy, could be a real steal for where he will be in the 2008 fantasy football rankings. Be sure to keep an eye on the news out of Denver before your draft, but my gut feeling says he is the number one for the Broncos come the start of the 2008 season.

Henry started last season as a stud, putting up big numbers. Then he got hurt. Not only was he hurt last year, but he had some issues with the league and a failed drug test, which he did get overturned. If he can put these issues behind him, expect 1000+ yards and 7 or 8 touchdowns, with some upside to those numbers.

Any running back for the Broncos is going to put up some numbers. The big question is whether the Broncos go with some sort of rotation at the running back position. I have a feeling they will, to some extent. Henry will be a bit of a risky pick, but his fantasy football value has fallen greatly from last years draft, and if you can pick him up early in the sixth round, maybe late in the fifth, it could be a good risk to take. I don’t usually like to make risky picks in the earlier rounds, but you really cannot ignore the upside potential he brings to the table.

Again, keep an eye on the situation in Denver in training camp and through the exhibition season, if Henry becomes the clear cut number one in Denver, he’s worth a look - but be sure to grab his back up as well.
