I really like what the Bears did this offseason, scooping up Jay Cutler. He immediately improves their team, and gives them a legit quarterback. He is an upgrade at that position from anything they have had recently, and the Bears should enjoy a solid season.
The Bears will have a different plan of attack than the Broncos, and that is going to hurt Cutler a little bit. I don’t see the potential here for a super stud type of season, but he should be rock solid, and a quality starting option.
I don’t know that he has as many weapons at wide-out as he did in Denver, but he has a solid running game, and I would expect a lot of screen passes out of the backfield to go for big gains with Forte running.
If the Bears can find a legitimate number one WR, or if someone steps up for Cutler, he could have a very good season. I like Cutler to slip in the draft a bit, and he is a guy you can target if you like taking your quarterback later in the draft once the top tier guys are gone. If you can pair Cutler with someone else that has some upside, you should be in pretty good shape at the QB position.
