Darren McFadden is an interesting selection coming into the 2009 fantasy football season. He showed flashes last year of greatness, but was not very durable. In addition, the Raiders have Fargas entrenched in their system, making the two Raider backs a running back by committee.
Even sharing the load, however, McFadden is worth a roster spot, I just think he will probably be overvalued on draft day for me. He should put up some good numbers, but the consistency will not be there. McFadden does have some tremendous upside. He wasn’t drafted fourth overall for no reason, but I don’t know that this season is his breakout year.
If you can draft him as your number three back, you’re getting an excellent value. I don’t know that I would rely on him as my number two back, however.
