Amarius Mims*, OT, Georgia
Height: 6-7. Weight: 330.
Projected 40 Time: 4.88.
Projected Round (2024): 1.
10/14/23: Mims has been out with an ankle injury, but he was dominant before getting hurt. Team sources wanted to see more violence and nastiness from Mims, which he was showing. Back in 2022, Mims put together a dominant performance against Ohio State, destroying and toying with its hyped-up defensive ends. Mims has an elite and rare skill set.
9/1/23: Mims was a backup and rotational player for Georgia, but he could become a star in 2023. Manning right tackle for Georgia, Mims is a giant monster who has very little body fat and is a unique physical specimen with size, speed and athleticism. Team sources say Mims has 11.2-inch hands and 36-inch arms, as well as quickness. They call his physical body similar to Tyron Smith’s. NFL team evaluators say they want to see Mims get more physical and nasty in 2023 because he plays like the big kid on the playground who doesn’t want to hurt anybody. Mims has a great skill set could be a star and fast riser for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Kingsley Suamataia**, OT, BYU
Height: 6-6. Weight: 315.
Projected 40 Time: 4.99.
Projected Round (2024): 1.
10/14/23: Suamataia has been very good this season. He has shocking speed and athleticism for an edge blocker of his size. Suamataia is superb in pass protection while also showing toughness as a run blocker. He could stand to add some lower body strength, but he has a lot of upside and could be a very good starter at left or right tackle in the NFL.
9/1/23: Suamataia was a top recruit who landed at Oregon and redshirted. In 2022, Suamataia transferred to BYU, where he broke out, including not allowing a sack all season. Suamataia has shocking speed and athleticism for an edge blocker of his size. Another big season could make Suamataia a high first-rounder in his draft class.
Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma
Height: 6-7. Weight: 327.
Projected 40 Time: 5.30.
Projected Round (2024): 1.
10/14/23: Guyton is an athletic freak with a special combination of size, speed and extreme length. Team sources say Guyton has all the ability but needs to get more consistent. Considering he has not started a full season yet, Guyton has a lot of upside to grow as he gains experience. Multiple team sources say he has first-round potential and think he could be a riser for the 2024 NFL Draft. Guyton was excellent against Texas and showed his tremendous length, quickness and athleticism.
9/1/23: It has taken some time for Guyton to break into the lineup. He started out his career at TCU before transferring prior to the 2022 season. In 2021 he played offensive tackle and H-back for the Horned Frogs. In his first season wit the Sooners, Guyton started a handful of games and showed upside. He has good size and could be a riser.
Olumuyiwa Fashanu*, OT, Penn State
Height: 6-6. Weight: 321.
Projected 40 Time: 5.10.
Projected Round (2024): 1.
10/14/23: Fashanu (6-6, 321) has sufficient size and length for the NFL to make it tough for defenders to get by him. However, he is not an elite athlete on the edge with rare movement skills or quickness. He can move defenders up front in the ground game, but he is not all that nasty in his style of play. Fashanu looks like a future starting NFL left tackle, but not an elite one. He does not look like a top-10 prospect like a Penei Sewell. Multiple NFL sources share there opinion about Fashanu in the Hot Press. As a pro, Fashanu might be more similar to an adequate starting tackle like Russell Okung over an elite tackle like Sewell.
9/1/23: Fashanu could have been in the running to be the top offensive line prospect for the 2023 NFL Draft before deciding to return to Happy Valley. He has excellent size to go along with quickness and athleticism. Fashanu has the potential to be special.
Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame
Height: 6-7. Weight: 317.
Projected 40 Time: 5.20.
Projected Round (2024): 1.
10/14/23: Alt has extended his streak and is generall playing well. He is big with long arms, has good strength in the upper body, uses his hands well, and has good technique. Alt has been consistent and productive. However, he has issues with his anchor because he is stiff and doesn’t bend well. That lack of bend is a challenging issue given how tall Alt is. Alt could be a Mike McGlinchey-type tackle in the NFL.
9/1/23: Alt broke into the starting lineup at left tackle as a freshman and has started 21 straight contests on the blind side. Alt started out his career playing some tight end for the Notre Dame before settling in at left tackle. He has good size and length to block on the edge. Handling speed rushers and playing with good leverage will be points of emphasis for Alt as a senior.
J.C. Latham*, OT, Alabama
Height: 6-6. Weight: 326.
Projected 40 Time: 5.30.
Projected Round (2024): 1.
10/14/23: Latham has played well this season. There is no doubt that Latham is a powerful kid with the ability to generate movement at the point of attack. He makes winning blocks look easy with serious strength and an ability to sustain. However, Latham is more of a right tackle than a left tackle for the NFL given his feet and movement skills.
9/1/23: Latham put together an excellent 2022 season at right tackle for the Crimson Tide. He was steady in pass protection and reliable in the ground game. On the year, he allowed two sacks, 11 pressures and two hits, plus had 10 penalties. Latham’s length and size give him the potential to be a good edge protector in the pros. Latham is projected to take over at left tackle as a junior in 2023 thanks to Tyler Steen moving on to the NFL. Latham rotated in for Alabama as a freshman, and he has a good skill set with huge upside.
Graham Barton, OT/G, Duke
Height: 6-5. Weight: 306.
Projected 40 Time: 5.30.
Projected Round (2024): 1-2.
10/14/23: Some pro sources say their teams are projecting Barton to move inside to guard in the NFL. They say that Barton plays with short arms and his body type could fit better on the inside. Pro evaluators like how Barton is physical, nasty and strong in the ground game. While playing left tackle for Duke, Barton is a consistent run blocker and pass protector. Barton has been dealing with an injury in 2023, which cost him the game against Notre Dame.
9/1/23: The 2023 season will be the third straight year of Barton starting at left tackle for Duke. He has shown improvement over each season. Barton has quality technique and plays with good leverage. Depending on his length, he could be a candidate to move inside to guard as a pro. Barton is a tough and physical blocker that plays with a lot of fight and tenacity.
Patrick Paul, OT, Houston
Height: 6-7. Weight: 315.
Projected 40 Time: 5.15.
Projected Round (2024): 2-3.
10/14/23: Paul has starter ability for the NFL with good size, length, quickness and athleticism. Paul will enter the next level with a lot of experience after breaking into the starting lineup as a redshirt freshman in 2021. Paul has upside, ability and versatility.
Matt Goncalves, OT, Pittsburgh
Height: 6-6. Weight: 330.
Projected 40 Time: 5.35.
Projected Round (2024): 2-3.
10/14/23: Goncalves is a big edge blocker for the next level who has experience starting at left and right tackle for Pittsburgh. The Panthers bounced Goncalves back and forth between right and left tackle over 2020-2022, and as a senior, he is starting at left tackle. Goncalves is big, strong, and has good enough movement to stay on the edge in the NFL. He also has the body type to be a candidate to play guard as a pro.
Julian Pearl, OT, Illinois
Height: 6-6. Weight: 315.
Projected 40 Time: 5.10.
Projected Round (2024): 2-3.
10/14/23: Pearl has started at right tackle and left tackle for the Illini over the past three seasons. He broke into the starting lineup on the right side during the 2020 season. Over the past few seasons, Pearl has been at left tackle. He has versatile size with quickness and athleticism.
K.T. Leveston, OT, Kansas State
Height: 6-5. Weight: 330.
Projected 40 Time: 5.45.
Projected Round (2024): 2-3.
10/14/23: Leveston has been a good starter at left tackle for the Wildcats over the past two seasons. In 2022, he was an excellent run blocker for Deuce Vaughn, and Leveston has shown improved pass protection as a senior. Leveston is sleeper who could be a good value pick with starting potential at tackle or guard in the NFL.
Kelvin Banks*, OT, Texas
Height: 6-4. Weight: 320.
Projected 40 Time: 5.40.
Projected Round (2024): 2-3.
10/14/23: Banks is starting at left tackle for the Longhorns. He played well against the Crimson Tide and their future pro competitors.
9/1/23: Banks had an impressive debut as a freshman, starting at left tackle for the Longhorns. He was a steady run blocker and showed the potential to be a pass protector. With a quality skill set, Banks has upside and could be a riser for his draft class. Banks is candidate to move inside to guard as well.
Jack Nelson*, OT, Wisconsin
Height: 6-7. Weight: 304.
Projected 40 Time: 5.40.
Projected Round (2024): 2-3.
10/14/23: Nelson is starting at left tackle for Wisconsin and has yet to see a tough test this season.
9/1/23: Nelson started at left tackle for the Badgers in 2022, but he could also get consideration as a right tackle for the pros. Nelson has started at guard and tackle for the Badgers. Given his height and length, Nelson could fit as a starting tackle in the NFL. If he does well against speed rushers in 2023, he could really rise.
Walker Parks, OT, Clemson
Height: 6-5. Weight: 300.
Projected 40 Time: 5.00.
Projected Round (2024): 2-4.
10/14/23: Parks is starting at right guard this season for Clemson.
9/1/23: In 2022, Parks had a solid season at left tackle for Clemson. He broke into the starting lineup as a true sophomore in 2021, taking the snaps at right tackle for the Tigers. His run blocking is ahead of his pass protection, but he has upside and should improve as he gains experience and develops strength.
Garrett Greenfield, OT, South Dakota State
Height: 6-7. Weight: 320.
Projected 40 Time: 5.30.
Projected Round (2024): 3-5.
10/14/23: Greenfield needs to play well and stand out at an all-star game.
9/1/23: If Greenfield stays healthy, he will end up being a three-year starter entering the NFL having logged a season at left and right tackle. In 2021 he broke into the starting lineup on the right side before moving to left tackle in 2022. Excelling at an all-star game would help Greenfield.
Jonah Monheim*, OT/OL, USC
Height: 6-5. Weight: 295.
Projected 40 Time: 5.50.
Projected Round (2024): 3-5.
10/14/23: Monheim is starting at left tackle for USC. The Trojans have had an easy schedule to open the season.
9/1/23: Monheim has been a versatile blocker for the Trojans, starting at guard and right tackle. Monheim could improve now that he has a year of starting experience. For the NFL, it would help Monheim to gain some weight and get stronger.
Javon Foster, OT, Missouri
Height: 6-5. Weight: 320.
Projected 40 Time: 5.25.
Projected Round (2024): 5-7.
10/14/23: Foster is starting at left tackle for the Tigers. He’s been a solid blocker for Missouri, but has limitations for the NFL.
9/1/23: Foster enters the 2023 season having made 26 straight starts at left tackle. Team sources said they felt Foster needed improvement and made the right decision to return to Missouri for the 2023 season. Foster has good size, but he needs to improve his technique and grow more consistent.
Damieon George*, OT, Florida
Height: 6-6. Weight: 350.
Projected 40 Time: 5.60.
Projected Round (2024): 6-FA.
10/14/23: George is starting at right tackle for the Gators and has had a mixed season. He has done well as a run blocker at times while giving up too much pass pressure. George is only in his first season as a starter since transferring from Alabama. George could improve as he gains experience, but he should return for his senior year.
Nolan Rucci*, OT, Wisconsin
Height: 6-8. Weight: 294.
Projected 40 Time: 5.40.
Projected Round (2024): 7-FA.
10/14/23: Rucci is a backup.
9/1/23: Rucci is a big blocker with length, but he needs to earn a starting spot and play well to rise.
