Penn State vs. Illinois; Saturday, Sept. 16, 12:00 PM ET FOX
The Prospects:
Penn State
LT Olumuyiwa Fashanu, No. 74WR KeAndre Lambert-Smith, No. 1CB Kalen King, No. 4DE Chop Robinson, No. 44LB Curtis Jacobs, No. 23S Jaylen Reed, No. 1CB Johnny Dixon, No. 3
Illinois
DT Johnny Wilson, No. 4CB Tahveon Nicholson, No. 3
The Matchups: There could be some future first-round picks going head to head – if Newton lines up against Fashanu. Fashanu could be one of the top prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft, and Newton is a dangerous interior pass rusher. It will be interesting to see how Newton handles the Nittany Lions offensive line. Penn State also has some wide receiver talent to go against Nicholson.
South Carolina vs. Georgia; Saturday, Sept. 16, 3:30 PM ET CBS
The Prospects:
South Carolina
QB Spencer Rattler, No. 7RB Antwane Wells Jr., No. 3TE Trey Knox, No. 1DE Jordan Strachan, No. 7CB Marcellas Dial, No. 6
Georgia
TE Brock Bowers, No. 19RT Amarius Mims, No. 65DT Nazir Stackhouse, No. 78CB Kamari Lassiter, No. 3S Javon Bullard, No. 22CB Tykee Smith, No. 23LB Jamon Dumas-Johnson, No. 10RB Kendall Milton, No. 2WR Arian Smith, No. 11WR Ladd McConkey, No. 84RG Tate Ratledge, No. 69LG Xavier Truss, No. 73
The Matchups: There are some good draft matchups in this game, and it will be a critical tape in the evaluation of Rattler. The Bulldogs have a supremely talented defense stocked with future pros, so it will be interesting to see if Rattler can demonstrate development and maturity. There will be other good matchups as well, including Dial taking on the Georgia receivers along with Bowers.
Tennessee vs. Florida; Saturday, Sept. 16, 7:00 PM ET ESPN
The Prospects:
Tennessee
WR Bru McCoy, No. 15QB Joe Milton, No. 7LB Jeremy Banks, No. 33DE Tyler Baron, No. 9
Florida
CB Jason Marshall, No. 3WR Ricky Pearsall, No. 1RB Montrell Johnson Jr., No. 2RT Damieon George, No. 76DT Cam Jackson, No. 99CB Jaydon Hill, No. 23
The Matchups: Milton has a cannon for an arm, and it will be interesting to see how he plays while taking on a secondary with some quality talent. Marshall had a rough start in the opener against Utah before playing better. He needs to show more consistency to help his grade for the 2024 NFL Draft.
