Free fantasy football advice, Draft tips:
When planning your
fantasy football draft, it is important to go in with a game
plan. Look at your league scoring system. There
are two basic systems out there, one awards points per
reception, the other does not. If you are in a points
per reception league, and have a late pick in the first
round, consider taking the top two wide receivers with your
first two picks. The top running backs are gone by
now, and you can pick up two quality backs in the next two
rounds. Wide receivers are overlooked in the early
rounds often, but point per reception leagues reward these
players greatly. Don't overlook them, if you can't
land a stud running back, scoop up two stud wide receivers.
You can always use one as trade bait later.
The quarterback
field seems pretty big this year, there are at least a half
dozen quarterbacks with the ability to put up big numbers,
and a few that slip to the middle or late rounds will be top
ten quarterbacks. Consider stocking your other
positions and then spend two or three consecutive picks on
quarterbacks. In round ten of a 12 team league, I'm
looking at Rivers, Schaub, Rogers, Delhomme, Leinert into
the last half of round eleven. Round 12 and later and
you could still nab a Leinart or a Young. Going into
the season with Rivers, Rogers and Young would not bother me
too much, and could be an interesting play if any of the
three pans out and the rest of your team is solid. |
